In this course, you’ll learn all the tools to understand your body and how it moves. By the end of the course, you’ll know all the main muscles and joints in the body and will be able to assess why you can or cannot go further in a posture during your yoga practice.
You’ll discover deeper aspects of the yoga practice such as how having a yoga practice can impact the wellbeing of your nervous system.

This course covers all the theory aspects of Anatomy but also includes practical anatomy and exploration of your own body and limitations. This course goes far beyond Yoga Alliance requirements in Yoga Anatomy. All information is made accessible without requiring prior knowledge in anatomy.

We will have a close look at all the muscles and their actions so at the end of the course, you’ll feel confident teaching asana classes with an anatomical focus. We’ll also cover all the aspects that affect our yoga practices such as proprioception, the vagus nerve, the relaxation process, the benefits of using diaphragmatic breathing and so much more!

Moreover, you’ll learn more about the fascia, how to release our plantar fascia and what benefits it has on the body, how to cue and modify your posture if you have hyperextended knees and a lot more practical information.

• Those wishing to complete a fully or partial 200-hour YTTC
• Those who want to integrate their anatomical knowledge into their teaching

Is this Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes, registered yoga teachers can submit this course to the Yoga Alliance to fulfill their continuing education requirement. If you are registered with the Yoga Alliance, you must complete 30 hours of yoga related training every 3 years.

Will this course certify me to be a yoga instructor?

200-hour teacher training is required to be a yoga instructor registered through the Yoga Alliance. As this is 30 hours, you will receive 30 hours of credit toward your 200 certification with us. If you are already a yoga teacher, you will receive 30 continuing education credits.

Are exams required for course completion?

If you would like to receive the CE credits, there will be a final assignment due at the end
of the course. If you are just taking the course for your personal journey, or are not
registered with any Yoga Alliance, then you do not need to complete the final

Meet your Instructor!

Gwen Ferreira (E-RYT500 & YACEP). She completed her last 300hr YTT with Monica Gauci and Gregor Maehle who are KPJAYI certified and published authors. She also trained with Laruga Glaser, Janet Stone, Saul David Haye, Sienna Sherman, Paul Grilley and Jason Crandell for example.
Gwendoline is as well trained in Restorative Yoga in the tradition of Iyengar with Judith Hanson Lasater, Lizzie Lasater and Cyndi Lee. Gwen teaches Ashtanga and Restorative Yoga classes, Anatomy courses for 200 and 300hours YTTC, traditional Pranayama and Meditation.
She is trained in Yoga Anatomy by Physiotherapist and Chiropractor such as Monica Gauci, Judith Hanson Lasater, Paul Grilley and David Keil. Her teaching style combines a traditional approach to yoga with the needs of each individual student.
